An Illinois native and resident, Christy’s husband, Shonn, owns a landscaping company, and her two children, Beckett and Harper, love adventure, learning, and spending time together. Christy has taught students in grades 2 – 8 and worked with teachers and administrators PK – 12. In addition, she has taught both pre-service teachers and graduate level educators at the university level. Christy is currently finishing her doctoral dissertation on expanding notions of ability in school, with a focus on teacher expectations and a school culture of growth mindset.
