Joseph Fullerton has been an educator for the past 18 years.  Currently serving as a Principal of a comprehensive technical high school, he has vast experience teaching mathematics, developing curriculum, and modeling instructional strategies to engage students in the learning process and working with staff to improve the overall culture of the school.  Joe has experience working with all disciplines and enjoys working with students and teachers.  Certified as a math teacher, principal, assistant director and superintendent, Joe spends a great deal of his day in classrooms to continue to grow as an educator along with his staff.  Joe believes in building relationships with students and staff in order to make all instructional strategies more effective.

Joe currently resides in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and has two children, Alexis and Ethan.

  • Principal of a comprehensive technical high school grades 9-12
  • Responsible for supervision of 3 administrative staff, 1500 students and 50 staff members
  • Shares instructional strategies as needed to promote engaging, integrated classrooms

  • Responsible for the budget of all academic areas and three technical academies

  • Works closely with the Management Assistants to maintain positive discipline choices by students

  • Maintain and develop the curriculum and task lists for 50+ programs
  • Supervise Instructional Coaches as they introduce academic integration into technical programs.
  • Member of the Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 Curriculum Coordinators group
  • Responsible for maintaining accreditation standards for all programs including the re-accreditation for individual programs
  • Maintain program approvals for all secondary programs through the Bureau of Career and Technical Education
  • Introduce instructional and assessment techniques to meet the needs of all instructors and learners
  • Design and monitor remediation program to help sending districts meet the requirements of the Keystone Exams
  • Work closely with Special Projects Coordinator to develop articulation agreements with post-secondary institutions
  • Assist Post-Secondary Director in the development of post-secondary offerings

  • Armstrong County Career Awareness
    • Duties included development of career portfolio program for students in Grades    7, 8 and 10.  Worked closely with Counselors and Teachers from all sending schools to organize classroom presentations using various reading and writing strategies.  Students completed portfolio each year highlighting their goals and plans for their future.
    • Curriculum Coordinator, Grant writing, Supervisor of Remediation Program
    • Supervised tutors in the implementation of Study Island PSSA preparation software along with Keys 2 Work Career preparation software.  Keys 2 Work is presented by Smart Futures and allows students to explore careers while providing them an opportunity to improve skills necessary to attain careers they are interested in.  
    • Supervised Mathematics Department.
    • Worked with sponsoring districts with data analysis to make sure students were making necessary improvements to become lifelong learners.
    • Handled student discipline and professional development for staff
  • Adult Education Coordinator
    • Maintained and managed Adult Education budget, interviewed potential Adult Education instructors and helped schedule classes.
  • Presenter-Professional Development
    • Attended and presented at several state (Integrated Learning Conference) and national (High Schools That Work) conferences.
    • Participant- National Research Center for Career and Technical Education
    • Worked with other math teachers and automotive teachers to find a successful way of teaching students embedded math in technical curriculum.  Participated in a review of the study with members of the Federal Department of Education.
